CLEAR THE CLUTTER

Spring clean your life – not just your closet.

“Your time is valuable. Protect it.”

If you could press reset on one of your life right now, what would it be?

Spring is here, and with it comes the urge to shed the winter months. When people talk about spring cleaning, they usually mean decluttering closets or deep cleaning the house.

But the things that often create the most stress in our lives aren’t sitting in a drawer. They’re in the systems that run our everyday lives — our calendars, finances, phones, and habits.

Over time, those systems get cluttered. Schedules become overloaded. Finances get messy. Phones fill up with apps, emails, and notifications. We hold onto habits, obligations, and relationships that no longer feel right.

Spring is a great time to pause and reset.

Not by overhauling your entire life overnight — but by taking stock of what’s working, what isn’t, and making a few small changes that help you feel lighter, more organized, and more in control.

A good place to start is by looking at the areas that quietly shape your everyday life.

Here are a few ways to clear the clutter:

Clean Up Your Schedule

One of the biggest sources of stress for many women is simply having too much on the calendar.

Between work, family responsibilities, social commitments, and trying to stay on top of everything, many women end up with calendars that leave very little space for themselves.

This month, try doing a calendar audit. Look at the next few weeks and ask yourself:

  • Which commitments feel energizing?

  • Which commitments feel draining?

  • Where can you realistically create some downtime?

Even one small adjustment can make a difference. For example:

  • Protect one evening a week for yourself

  • Block out a Sunday morning for rest

  • Say no to something that doesn’t align with your priorities — and remember, no is a complete sentence.

Your time is valuable. Protect it.

Clean Up Your Digital Life

Our phones and inboxes can easily become a major source of mental clutter. Notifications, emails, messages, apps, and alerts are constantly competing for our attention.

A quick digital reset can make a noticeable difference in your focus and energy. Start with a few simple steps:

  • Unsubscribe from unnecessary emails. Removing even five newsletters you never read can make your inbox easier to manage.

  • Turn off non-essential notifications. Every alert pulls your attention away from what you're doing. Take five minutes to review which apps are allowed to send notifications.

  • Remove unused apps. Delete any app you haven’t opened in the past three months. Fewer apps mean fewer distractions.

Small changes to your digital environment can create more space for focus, calm, and productivity

Clean Up Your Finances

If you haven’t looked closely at your finances in a while, now is a good time for a quick financial reset.

Set aside 30 minutes to review your bank or credit card statements and look for expenses you no longer need, such as:

  • streaming services you rarely use

  • apps with monthly fees

  • memberships you forgot to cancel

Next, scan the last two months of transactions and ask yourself:

  • Are there categories where spending has crept up?

  • Are there purchases that could be reduced without affecting your quality of life?

You don’t need a complicated system. Simply tracking your spending for a month can reveal patterns and help you make more intentional decisions about where your money goes.

Clean Up Your Habits

Your daily habits shape your life. So, take a moment to ask yourself: What is one habit you’d like to change?

For example:

  • Staying up late doom scrolling

  • Checking your email or social media first thing in the morning

  • Not drinking enough water during the day

Once you identify it, choose one small change that could improve your day.

For example:

  • Go to bed 30 minutes earlier

  • Wait 30 minutes before checking email or social media in the morning

  • Start your day with a glass of water

Small adjustments to daily habits often make a bigger difference than major life overhauls.
